Danielle Taylor    UFC    strawweight
Taylor defeated Jessica Penne via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis

Taylor used her speed to disorient Penne, darting in and out while landing solid head shots. While Penne was able to do some good work in the clinch, it was clear that the 27-year-old landed the harder shots, and was the busier fighter overall. Taylor's combination of speed and power makes her a tough opponent for the division, but her small stature (5'0) will likely make it difficult for her to notch convincing wins in the UFC. She moves to 9-2 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
Dustin Ortiz    UFC    Flyweight
Ortiz lost to Brandon Moreno via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:06 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis

Ortiz had the grappling edge early, but Moreno was able to thwart a takedown attempt in Round 2 and create space long enough to land a big head kick as the 28-year-old loaded up a right hand. Ortiz attempted to regain his wits, but Moreno jumped on his back and eventually sunk in the choke for the finish. Ortiz was coming off a hard-fought victory over Zach Makovsky in December, but has now lost three of his last four fights. Ortiz, who was finished for the first time in his career Saturday, drops to 16-7 in professional MMA.
Brandon Moreno    UFC    Flyweight
Moreno defeated Dustin Ortiz via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:06 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis

Moreno was being outgrappled by Ortiz for most of the contest, but found space to land a giant head kick in Round 2 before jumping on his opponent's back and sinking in the choke. Moreno has been quite the find for the flyweight division, combining vicious striking with willing and competent grappling. The 23-year-old has won all three of his fights in the UFC, notching finishes over two high-profile opponents in Ortiz and Louis Smolka over that span. He improves to 14-3 in professional MMA as a result of the win.
Ovince Saint Preux    UFC    Light Heavyweight
Saint Preux defeated Marcos Rogerio de Lima via submission (Von Flue choke) at 2:11 of Round 2 at at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis

Saint Preux was eating high kicks from Rogerio de Lima for most of Round 1, but made a quick adjustment in Round 2, converting a kick to a takedown and following with brutal ground-and-pound. Rogerio de Lima seemed as though the fight had been beaten out of him, as he hung on to OSP's head while attempting to wrap up half guard, allowing the 34-year-old all the time in the world to sink in the choke. OSP had been on a rough road of late, but showed nice resolve for a bounce-back win after losing his last two fights. He improves to 20-10 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
Marcos Rogerio de Lima    UFC    Light Heavyweight
Rogerio de Lima lost to Ovince Saint Preux via submission (Von Flue choke) at 2:11 of Round 2 at at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis

Rogerio de Lima used his kicking game to easily win Round 1, but went to the well once too often, as Saint Preux converted a kick into a takedown at the start of Round 2. OSP bludgeoned Rogerio de Lima with ground-and-pound before sinking in the choke. While there is no question that the choke was tight, the Brazilian didn't do much to defend, hanging onto the head in half guard while the submission was being set up. Rogerio de Lima missed weight for the second straight time heading into this fight, which may raise concerns about his conditioning going forward. He falls to 15-5 in professional MMA, having lost three of his last five fights.
Jake Ellenberger    UFC    Welterweight
Ellenberger lost to Mike Perry via KO (Elbow) at 1:05 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 108 in Nashville on Saturday.

Fantasy Analysis

Ellenberger did a good job disrupting Perry's timing with takedown attempts in Round 1, but Perry made the adjustment in Round 2, hitting Ellenberger with an elbow from the clinch that left him on the mat while the official particulars were being read. Ellenberger clearly still has good strategy and technique, but it may be time to question whether he can continue to go through the wars that have made him a staple of the sport. The 32-year-old drops to 31-13 as a result of the loss, having lost four of his last five fights.
