Shayok has decided to transfer to Iowa State for his senior season, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.

Shayok started 14 games for the Cavaliers in 2016-17, but moved back to the bench for the team's final six games. His experience and efficient shooting should make him a key piece for the Cyclones next season and he could be in line for a starting role following the graduation of four starting seniors from Iowa State last season. The team's up-tempo pace of play should also result in some bigger stat lines for him in his final college campaign.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shayok is transferring from Virginia, Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

Virginia suffered some attrition Wednesday with both Shayok and Jared Reuter both opting to transfer elsewhere. Shayok had a 14-start streak towards the beginning of conference play and responded with 9.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in that stretch. However, as Virginia began to struggle towards the end of the season, coach Tony Bennett switched up his starting lineup and began to bring Shayok in off the bench. Shayok's experience and efficient shooting will make him a sought-after commodity on the transfer market.

Shayok contributed 10 points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one rebound in Thursday's loss to Notre Dame.

After scoring a collective four points over his previous four games combined, this was definitely a performance Shayok needed. The junior was only on the court for 13 minutes total, but he made the most of them in order to put up those 10 points. On the season he's averaging 8.6 points in 20.3 minutes of court time.

Shayok had a career-high 19 points (6-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT) and added four rebounds and one assist in the victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Shayok has really started to play his best basketball of the season in his last five games where he is averaging 14.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 26.4 minutes per game. In that stretch the 6-5 junior is also shooting 55 percent from the field and 43 percent from long range. There isn't a lot of scoring on this Virginia team as they average just 70 PPG. They are the best defensive team in the country, however, and Shayok will look to keep his hot streak going Tuesday at Notre Dame.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Shayok, who scored 11 points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) Wednesday against Lehigh, is dealing with a sprained right wrist, Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

Shayok apparently suffered the injury Sunday against George Mason, a contest in which the guard only played 13 minutes. The ailment was concerning enough for Shayok to undergo X-rays, but they came back negative and he was able to start the Cavaliers' next game. Considering he wasn't forced to miss time, Shayok likely won't be in jeopardy of sitting out any additional games, although he may end up playing through some discomfort. The sophomore is averaging 6.6 points and 2.6 boards over the first six games of 2015-16.
